Who is responsible for our growth in godliness? That’s the question we’re discussing on The Hero of the Story. Listen in as we discuss:
- How we should (and shouldn’t) understand the actions of the early church in Acts 5
- Why God would strike Ananias and Sapphira dead and if the punishment fit the crime
- Whether we’re more concerned with doing good out of love for Christ or appearing to do good

Janet Hayes says
I am African American and grew up in the Black Church. I’ve spent years in white evangelical congregation. I’ve returned to my home church. I’ve never heard any Black Christians have questions or concerns about the type of sharing in Acts chapter4. Certainly no questions about socials. It was always “amen” and “yes, of course”. Where and why on earth would anyone think socialism? That is so peculiar.
