As the year winds down, many of us take some time to reflect on how we’re growing in our faith, particularly by looking at the actions we took—what our prayer lives looked like, did we read our Bible entirely this year, did we give enough, and so forth—and consider what we’re going to do differently. And while it’s good to do this, we often limit our thinking to the “what” of what we’re trying to accomplish (or haven’t accomplished in the past) without considering the “why” and the “how”.
On today’s episode of The Hero of the Story, we’re talking about the benefits of a spiritual health check, and how we can pursue a greater love of Christ in the new year.
Listen in to hear:
- The difference between “performancism” and healthy spiritual growth.
- The different approaches Aaron and Brian are taking as they focus on reading Scripture.
- Why pursuing deep relationships in our local churches is essential to our ongoing growth in the gospel.
