The end of the book of Joshua is familiar to most believers—at least the commonly quoted Joshua 24:15, “As for me and my family, we will worship the Lord.” We tend to see a very simple dichotomy in this passage: either we serve the Lord or we serve idols. Be in or out. And while this is true insofar as it goes, is it enough to stop our application there?
