We are excited to announce the appointment Brian Dembowczyk as the new managing editor of The Gospel Project. Brian first joined our team in 2014 as publishing team leader for The Gospel Project for Kids. In his new role, Brian will manage day-to-day development of this chronological, Christ-centered Bible study for all ages while working closely with general editors, Trevin Wax and Ed Stetzer.
“I’ve been working with Brian now for several years on The Gospel Project for Kids. His knowledge of the church and his passion for God’s Word are proven in his previous work, and I look forward to seeing how God expands his influence and work through this new role,” says Trevin Wax, General Editor
Brian earned his D.Min. from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and an M.Div. from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He and his wife, Tara, have three kids: Joshua, Hannah, and Caleb. Prior to joining The Gospel Project, he served in local church ministry for 17 years, primarily in family and discipleship ministry. Brian is the author of three books.
To ministries that use The Gospel Project, Brian shares that, “It has been an amazing privilege to be part of The Gospel Project for Kids team since the fall of 2014 and to see God use that resource to impact so many kids, parents, and leaders through the gospel. And now I am grateful for the opportunity to also be part of The Gospel Project for Adults and Students as we strive to continue to serve the Church well as faithful stewards of this resource.”
With Brian’s new role, we are also excited to announce that Jeremy Carroll will be taking over as publishing team leader of The Gospel Project for Kids. Jeremy holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and joins us from First Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he served as Minister to Preschool and Children. He and his wife, Janna, are the proud parents of Jadyn, Cameron, Rylan, Hudson, and Emalyn.
Jeremy shares that, “I am excited to join The Gospel Project for Kids team because I believe that if we as parents and ministry leaders want to introduce our kids to Jesus and God’s redemptive plan while laying a solid biblical foundation, The Gospel Project’s approach to Scripture is one of the best available. Since The Gospel Project is already such a strong study and approach for understanding the big picture of the Bible, I pray that God will use my passion for engaging kids at a developmentally appropriate level to further strengthen its impact.”
Looking ahead, Dembowczyk adds, “This is an especially exciting time as we prepare for the launch of our next three-year study cycle in September 2018. There is still more of the story to tell and ways we can provide the best resources possible to help kids, students, and adults experience gospel transformation and join in the mission of making disciples of all the nations.”
The entire team here at The Gospel Project is excited to work alongside Brian and Jeremy. As this Bible study curriculum enters its sixth year of study, we praise God for the gift of His gospel and are grateful for the opportunity to continue this journey through Scripture with adults, students, and kids the world over. Thank you for joining us.
